The 2024 United States presidential election was between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris. Nationwide, Trump received 50.4 percent of the popular vote, while Harris received 48.0 percent. This amounts to a 2.4 percent margin for Trump. At this writing, Trump is expected to win the Electoral College vote with 312 votes, compared to Harris's 226. In Texas, Trump received 56.2 percent of the vote, while Harris received 42.4 percent. This means Trump won Texas by a 13.8 percent margin.
